How the US election has affected our outlook

JONATHAN McKEOWN and AARON CASKEY asked the public on Wellington’s Cuba St if the outcome of the US election has changed their view on politics in New Zealand:
Most people were upbeat about Barack Obama’s victory and thought that while it was good for New Zealand it didn’t have an affect on their opinion of the local election.
Some people commented that politics in the United States is a lot more exciting. There is a trend among the younger voters to view the US elections as more important, and more interesting.
Both Barack Obama and John Key have a strong message of change. However, people we asked saw a difference in the type of change that the two are offering.
