Peter Jackson and Susan Sarandon were reason enough for most people to attend the premiere of The Lovely Bones in Wellington last night, others came to get photos to impress their facebook-friends.

SABRINA DANKEL spoke to fans along the red carpet:

”We spent pretty much the entire year studying the film in atonement, so we‘re definitely here to get a few facebook-pictures,” said Mickey Molone.

His friend Jono Edlin explained: “We are here for… well, I actually don‘t know the actress‘s name, but it will mean a lot to us to see her. We‘ve been looking at her for so long and we like celebrities. Our English class will be jealous of us.”

Hayley and Rachel Pickering from Johnsonville had never been to a premiere before and came to see Peter Jackson.

“I am excited,” said Hayley. “We‘re here to see Peter Jackson and all the other stars and, you know, to hang out.”

Their friend Rebecca Gibson said she always watches movie premieres on TV and finds it exciting to attend The Lovely Bones premiere herself.

Rebecca read only the beginning of the book, but enjoyed it so far: “Maybe I’ll read it another day when I have finished Harry Potter.”
