PHOTO ESSAY: Market day in Lower Hutt

Jun 11th, 2010 | By | Category: Front Page Layout, Latest News, News

THE Riverbank market in central Lower Hutt provides a relaxed shopping experience every Saturday for fresh local produce.

The market, which was founded by James Liu five years ago, kicks off in the early hours and runs through to mid afternoon, attracting hundreds of people each weekend.

Greater Wellington Regional Council is looking at a more carnival atmosphere and has suggested moving the market to one of the adjoining streets, but until then it will stay on the banks of the Lower Hutt River.
