WHILE a water fountain accidentally on Manners Mall took only hours to fix, at least one shop in the area is still suffering the aftermath.

Hurricane Jeans has no Eftpos, computer or music, light fixtures are broken, and about 100 pairs of jeans are water-stained.

“It has cost about $10,000 to $15,000 of damage to stock and everything else in the store,” says Hurricane employee Alice Pert (left).

“We are having to make do with my I-phone for music in the store, but you can’t hear it very well.”

People hoping for a flood sale are out of luck.

Hurricane manager Damian Braddock says there will not be a sale of the damaged goods.

“With any insurance company, to make a claim, you have to give them the damaged stock and they will reimburse you.

“It’s also not a good look for the brands to sell them damaged. There are, however, $90 jeans on sale at the moment that are not damaged.”
