Up, up and up again for Plimmerton firebrigade

May 11th, 2012 | By | Category: Front Page Layout, Latest News, News

PLIMMERTON’S fire team geared up, rolled out the hoses and washed cars last Saturday.

The team worked hard throughout the day, cleaning up to 100 cars between 10.30am and 4pm.

“Sometimes we were cleaning four cars at once,” say volunteer fire fighter Toby Wootton. Between the carwash and the sausage sizzled, the brigade raised about $950.

So far, Plimmerton Volunteer Fire Brigade has donated $4353 to Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand with a goal of donating $5000 before the Sky Tower Challenge takes place on May 19.

With the money collected at the carwash, the team have gone above their target and have raised just over $6000.

“A big thanks to everyone, we have achieved our fundraising goal because of it [the carwash],” says Mr Wootton.
