PACIFIC BUSINESSES have netted the ANZ bank a profit of 238 million NZ dollars this year.

This comes hot on the heels of ANZ announcing a 975 million dollars profit in New Zealand.

The ANZ has operated in the Pacific for 130 years and CEO Asia Pacific Gilles Plante’ says the region forms a strategically important market where the bank maintains an active role in trade and industries.

Mr Plante’ says  ANZ has provided a trade finance facility of 82 million NZ dollars to the Fiji Sugar Corporation to help breathe life into the country’s sugar industry.
