Makers hope costumes are a hit with Hobbit fans

Nov 12th, 2012 | By | Category: Radio News

A WELLINGTON textile company is hoping the costumes they made for the Hobbit movie will be a hit with fans.

Stansborough Textiles owner Barry Eldridge has just landed a contract to design costume pieces for Peter Jackson’s latest movie, using wool from sheep found nowhere else in the world – the Stansborough Grey.

Eldridge says fans of Tolkien’s books will take notice of small details in the movie, so they are likely to be curious about what the costumes are made from.

FW: The Lord of the Rings…

LW: …promote this whole thing.

DUR: 8 sec

Barry Eldridge says he hopes one of Tolkien’s most famous fans, Prince Charles, gets to see some of the costumes while he is in New Zealand.
