CHOCOHOLICS AHOY: Frank Stoltenberg in front of his pop-up chocolate factory

CHOCOLATE lovers can make and sample their own versions of the sweet treat at a pop-up factory in Wellington for the next two weeks.

The pop-up factory, a converted shipping container, provides a teaser to the upcoming New Zealand Chocolate Festival.

The container is set up under the sun sails at Queen’s Wharf and will be open to the public for part of the day during the week and most of the day on weekends.

“The pop-up chocolate factory will allow everyone to have a good look at how the festival’s chocolates are made,” said chocolate festival manager Frank Stoltenberg.

Mr Stoltenberg, who has an event management background, says he particularly enjoys events where everyone involved is passionate about the product.

”Everyone loves the chocolate event.”

Mr Stoltenberg says that he and fellow festival manager Iva Sajdl have thought about touring the pop-up factory around New Zealand.

The Chocolate Festival will be held from September 6-8 at the Intercontinental Hotel, where 25 exhibitors will display their skills and products.

The pop-up chocolate factory is free to the public.
