Gill loses eastern ward seat to Greens’ Sarah Free

THERE will be six new councillors sitting around re-elected Wellington city Mayor Celia Wade-Brown’s council table.

Sarah Free displaced Leonie Gill in the Eastern ward. Ms Free joins Simon Marsh and Ray Ahipene-Mercer, who retained their seats.

In the Northern Ward, Malcolm Sparrow replaced Ngaire Best, joining Justin Lester and Helene Ritchie.

Simon Woolf is the only new face in the Onslow-Western ward, joining Andy Foster and Jo Coughlan, replacing John Morrison.

Nicola Young and Mark Peck join Iona Pannett as the Lambton ward councillors. Ian McKinnon and Stephanie Cook stepped down at this election.

David Lee joins Paul Eagle on the Southern Ward, replacing Bryan Pepperell.
