Dancing into Taiwan

Jul 28th, 2014 | By | Category: Radio News

WELLINGTON students are off to perform in Taiwan this October.

The students, from Whitireias Performing Arts school, have been invited to the Nan Ying festival to perform contemporary interpretations of Polynesian dance.

The two week trip means students will perform up to three shows a day in 30 degree heat, featuring Maori, Samoan and Cook Island work.

Kiwa Andrews, a third year student, says he hopes the Taiwanese audience likes their shows, even though their style is so different.
