Bike friendly city notches up another first

Sep 25th, 2014 | By | Category: Radio News

A NEW bike friendly initiative from Wellington City Council.

A bike tool stand has been set up outside Wellington Central Library, and council plans at least one more.

The tool stands which cost a thousand dollars each, have a pump Allen keys and wrenches to help cyclists repair their bikes while out and about.

A second stand will be installed in the southern car park at the Makara Peak cycle track next week.

City Planner Paul Glennie says if they get a positive response we are likely to see more around the city.
