Defeated Greens say there’s still hope

Sep 21st, 2014 | By | Category: Radio News

IT was not the result they hoped for but the battered Greens say all is not lost.

With just 10 percent of the party vote, and 13 seats in parliament, party leaders say the result was five percent short of their target.

However special votes which traditionally favour the Greens have yet to be counted.

The party’s Wellington Central candidate James Shaw says the special votes should be able to get them an extra seat.
