Wet weather closing in on election day

POLITICAL parties will be hoping for nice weather on election day, as it traditionally influences voter turnout.

However MetService Forecaster Elke Louw says most of the country is in for showers.

She says here in Wellington we can expect patchy showers with a cold Southerly arriving in the afternoon.

But political scientist Jack Vowles says  weather is unlikely to affect the election result.
