Warriors could be offered a new home in the Capital.

Oct 22nd, 2014 | By | Category: Radio News

WELLINGTON’S Deputy Mayor is ready to offer the Warriors a new home.

The NRL side is battling with Auckland Council to be allowed to stay at their long standing home at the city’s Mt Smart Stadium.

If they lose this battle it may open the door for Wellington City Council to make a bid for the franchise.

Deputy Mayor Justin Lester says Warriors games in the last two years have proved lucrative for the region and  he’d be keen to see them based here if things don’t work out in Auckland.
