North Island wins craft beer taste-off

Nov 26th, 2014 | By | Category: Radio News

IT seems the North Island brews the best beer.

Almost 200 people drank their way through 200 litres of craft beer in a blind tasting event on Saturday at the Fork & Brewer, and decided the best craft beer is brewed in the bottom of the North Island.

The Wellington breweries were declared the winners in the inaugural taste-off between brewers from the North and South Islands.

Upper Hutt’s Kereru Brewing Company was judged best brew at the event.

Wellington wins the right to  defend the title at home next year.
