A WHITE Christmas in Korea is the inspiration behind the Christmas themed window display which won the people’s choice award in Wellington.

Owner of fashion shop MOAH, Moah Lee is taking part in the city council’s Capital Christmas Window Competition this year, creating a miniature Wellington in her shop window in Cuba Street.

Her entry is called White Wellington and is inspired by the white Christmas’ she experienced as a child in Korea.

The fashion importer says she spent over a week sculpting her mini paper city, paying close attention to detail.

She then threaded Christmas lights underneath to create a lived in night-time feel to her miniature city.

29 shops are competing in this year’s window competition.

Mayor Celia Wade-Brown says she is delighted to see so many people participating.

“Kirkcaldie & Stains is great, as ever, and Madame Fancy Pants on Cuba Street is good – I’m delighted to see so many windows decked with festive spirit,” says Mayor Wade-Brown.

The Capital Christmas window competition runs until December 14 and the public can vote online on the council’s website, daily.

Each vote puts you in the draw to win a $1000 shopping spree, courtesy of Kirkcaldie & Stains.
