Nov 19th, 2015 | By | Category: Radio News

FRENCH nationals draped in their country’s flag joined with Wellingtonians at a remembrance vigil in Civic Square last night.

The local show of unity with France follows the deaths of 129 people in last Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown joined French Ambassador Florence Jeanblac-Risler in lighting candles as the sombre crowd sang the French national anthem.

Mayor Wade-Brown told the crowd terrorism stops people enjoying their lives.
