ON Tuesday evening, a vigil was held in Wellington’s Civic Square to mourn the loss of the 129 people who died in the November 13 Paris Bombings.

Emotions were high when French Ambassador Florence Jeanblanc-Risler spoke to the hundreds who attended.

“They will never destroy joy, the feeling of being together on a Friday night in Paris,” she said.

Wellington’s Mayor, Celia Wade-Brown echoed the crowds thoughts when she said, “Paris, we stand with you. Nous sommes avec Paris.”
