Sun safety warnings ahead of summer

A sun safe warning just a month out from the shortest day.

The Cancer Society says people should not only wear sunblock but also suitable clothing.

U.V ray exposure is the main cause of skin cancer in New Zealand so the Cancer Society is promoting the use of long sleeved shirts and wide brimmed hats when out in the sun.

Health Promotion Manager, Raewyn Sutton says you need to have as much protection as possible.
