A call to address the challenges of diversity

AN AUCKLAND lawyer wants the right framework introduced to address diverse issues affecting Asians, Pacific Islanders and Maori people.
Marina Matthews from the Chen Palmer Super Diversity Centre, says New Zealand has already addressed issues at a bicultural level under the Treaty of Waitangi.
But she says now is the time to develop a multicultural policy, and increase cultural awareness.
She says in the future New Zealand will look very different, and we need to address the challenges that will come with that.
