The Battle of the Somme remembered in the capital

Sep 16th, 2016 | By | Category: Radio News

There will be a taste of France in the capital this Sunday to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of New Zealand’s  involvement in the Battle of the Somme.

The War in France commemoration at the National War Memorial will consist of a memorial service followed by a celebration of French culture called France in the Park.

However, Clare Fraser from the government’s war commemoration agency WW100 says it’s about more than just that battle.
