Acapella group embracing their roots

Oct 14th, 2016 | By | Category: Radio News

Auckland’s Zeal Quartet is breaking all the rules about what barbershops have historically looked and sounded like.

The multi-cultural quartet consists of four women of Sri Lankan, Indian and New Zealand descent.

Persis Darukhanawalla, Jessie Leov and sisters Nishaa and Shaanil Sen came together through  a shared passion for Acapella music.

Shaanil attributes some of her unique sound to her Sri Lankan roots.
