Coach plans competitive tournament for university

University cricket may become more competitive from next year if one coach’s plan comes together.

Cricket has long been part of the annual Uni Games, but the level of competition has varied over the years and is currently a more social event.

With Victoria University hosting the games next year, the university’s cricket club is hoping to give new impetus to the competition.

Club development officer and coach Andrew Lamb says there is a lack of high-level cricket for many talented players in their 20s and he wants to address that.
