Competition is heating up for New Zealand’s 2016 Bird of the Year.
The contest is run by Forest and Bird to raise awareness about native birds and the threats they face.
Voting is open on the Bird of the Year website until Sunday 30 October.
The online communications adviser for Forest and Bird, Kimberely Collins, says early front runners are already emerging.
