Hundreds take advantage of Free Yoga Day

Hundreds rolled out their yoga mats and said Namaste to Labour Day.

The annual Free Yoga Day gives people the chance to attend free yoga classes taught at different studios across the city.

This year the event teamed up with Off The Mat NZ, a not for profit organisation that collects used yoga mats.

Organiser Amber Sturtz says these old mats are then donated to community centres who offer koha yoga classes.

Miss Sturtz says one of the Off The Mat values is reduce, reuse, recycle.

The mats which are too old or worn to be used again are also donated.
