Kiwis vote for their favourite native bird

Oct 20th, 2016 | By | Category: Radio News

New Zealanders have started voting for their favourite native birds to win the annual Bird of the Year competition.

The Kōkako and the Kea have taken an early lead, but it’s still anyone’s game, with the Albatross and Kakī climbing the ranks.

Voting is open for another ten days on the Bird of the Year website.

The online communications adviser for Forest and Bird, Kimberely Collins, says the competition is all about raising awareness of native birds.
