New Mayor down on legal highs

There’ll be no licences to sell legal highs in Kapiti if the new mayor has his way.

K Gurunathan, who won the mayoralty in last week’s election, wants the council to review a decision made last year allowing businesses to apply for licences to sell the drugs.

There are currently no legal highs approved for sale by the government, so Mayor Guruanathan says council doesn’t need the policy.
