Dec 5th, 2016 | By | Category: Radio News

Victoria University will be celebrating a special event next week.

The wharenui at the university’s Te Herenga Waka Marae is turning 30, with birthday celebrations taking place on Tuesday.

The marae was built in 1982 and two years later it was moved to its current site on university grounds.

Associate professor at the school of Maori studies, Peter Adds says the wharenui is an important place for learning at Victoria University.
