American football back in business in the capital

American football appears to be growing in popularity in Wellington with the Capital Bowl competition returning for a second year.

The senior competition was cancelled for two years from 2013 to 2016 when clubs faced financial problems.

In an attempt to spark interest a junior competition was played in 2015.

The coach of theWellington senior team the Wolves, Sam Isaako, is confident the game is growing  with more players arriving at training every week.
