Labour turns its sights on local by-election

Oct 26th, 2017 | By | Category: Radio News

After success in the nationwide general election Labour is now eyeing up the Wellington City Council southern ward by-election.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Deputy Mayor Paul Eagle after he was elected  MP for Rongotai last month.

Labour’s  candidate, union lawyer Fleur Fitzsimons says she’s not underestimating the fight she’ll have on her hands winning the by-election.

She says she’s focusing on several issues in her bid to succeed Mr Eagle in the southern ward.
