Grassroots organisations applaud new Green co-leader

Apr 12th, 2018 | By | Category: Radio News

The recent election of Marama Davidson as Green Party co-leader has led to suggestions grassroots organisations may be better off.

The new co-leader won by a landslide in the leadership race on the weekend.

Former Green Party member Sue Bradford says Davidson’s position as a co-leader without a ministerial role will allow her to work with community groups.

The head of Justspeak, Tania Mead, says organisations need politicians to work with them to better understand social problems.

Tania Mead says grassroots organisations need to be an integral part of policy making, rather than last minute consultations.
