Aug 23rd, 2018 | By | Category: Radio News

Claims New Zealand has work to do when it comes to acknowledging grief.

The Employment Act in New Zealand allows three days off for grieving parents, however, the miscarriage bereavement bill currently before parliament could amend this.

If successful the bill will allow parents longer bereavement leave after a miscarriage.

Spokesperson for the miscarriage support group, SANDS, Rebekah Gray is happy that miscarriage is being recognised in New Zealand, but says we are very far behind other countries in acknowledging grief.
