Local roaster bucks trend by cutting prices

A local coffee roaster is going against the trend by offering cheaper coffee at a time when bean prices are increasing.


Statistic New Zealand figures show coffee prices have increased nearly 20% since 2009 to around four dollars a cup.


Husk Bar and Eatery is offering a loyalty scheme where you prepay $25 and get a coffee card for ten coffees at $2.50 each.


General Manager, Daniel van Ammers says they the can keep coffee prices down because they roast their own beans.
