More stores sign up for ban on plastic bags

Aug 15th, 2018 | By | Category: Multimedia, Radio News

Environmentalists are welcoming news that another 42 Countdown stores have banned single use plastic bags.

Phoebe Tinning who organised a community clean-up of Petone beach last month is excited about this but says there’s still more to be done.

She’s encouraging people to continue using reusable products.

Countdown aims to phase out single use plastic bags in all of their New Zealand stores by the end of 2018.
