Students rally for more mental health dollars

Aug 23rd, 2018 | By | Category: Radio News

Students say they need more funding for mental health services.

Hundreds of Victoria University students rallied in support of more public funding for tertiary mental health services outside Parliament this week.

Student representative, Tamatha Paul says student counselling is funded by the student services levy.

She says the student services levy is not enough for essential services  and they need the government to help.

The Wait Is Over campaign is pinpointing the wait time of six to eight weeks for counselling services.
