Streaming service looks to normalise Maori content

TVNZ’s children’s streaming service HEIHEI is committed to providing Māori content throughout September.

HEIHEI is trying to normalise Māori in their programming to ensure tamariki of Aotearoa are consuming Māori content.

TVNZ’s Nevak Rogers says Māori Language Week does not register with children and she believes for them it is important to celebrate te reo Māori consistently.

She says providing te reo Māori in the home is critical for the reo to build resilience in the future.
